Take part! Cognitive function in people with gambling problems

The Centre for Gambling Research at UBC is currently looking to recruit people experiencing gambling problems, who live in the greater Vancouver area, for the first research of its kind in British Columbia. The study involves a single 3-4 hour session at the Vancouver General Hospital’s Eye Care Centre (10th and Willow st.). The session consists of: 1) a structured interview about mental health; 2) computerized tasks looking at aspects of decision making involving money bonuses and accompanied by eye tracking; 3) questionnaires. The researchers would also like to arrange 2 short follow-up phone calls, 6 and 12 months after the test session.

Participation is confidential and the data collected are stored securely. Participants will receive compensation of $30 dollars and reimbursement of travel expenses, as well as bonuses earned on the tasks.

If you are currently experiencing problems with your gambling and are interested in participating, please email Brittney Russell (the researcher running the study): brittney.russell@psych.ubc.ca
