CGR position on gambling research funding

The issue of industry funding in gambling research, and the need for financial disclosures, has been raised in an important article by Prof Rebecca Cassidy (Goldsmiths, London) in International Gambling Studies, published in late 2014, which immediately prompted IGS to review its Disclosures policy. Luke Clark has published a commentary on the article (available for free for a limited time here, or else here), explaining the funding arrangements for the Centre for Gambling Research, and pointing out some of the nuances of the Canadian model based on Crown Corporations. There are a number of other commentary articles also available, by Michael Wohl (Carleton), Christine Reilly (NCRG), Martin Young & Francis Markham (Australia), and Mark Griffiths and Michael Auer (UK).
