Cognitive function in people with gambling disorder (November 2016, ongoing)

The Centre for Gambling Research at UBC is currently looking to recruit people experiencing gambling problems, who live in the greater Vancouver area, for the first research of its kind in British Columbia. The study involves a single 2.5 hour session on the UBC main campus in Vancouver, involving some clinical questionnaires about gambling and other aspects of mental health, as well as some computerized psychological tasks looking at different aspects of decision making. The study will measure heart rate using some ECG patches. The researchers would also like to arrange 2 short follow-up phone calls, 6 and 12 months after the test session.

Participation is confidential and the data collected is stored securely. Participation involves a gift voucher reimbursement of $30 dollars plus any travel expenses.

If you are currently experiencing problems with your gambling, and you are interested in participating, please email the Centre on gamblingresearch@psych.ubc.ca, or call 604-827-0619 and ask to speak with Dawn (research assistant). This is an ongoing study through 2016 and 2017.
